Tenuta Larnianone is located in the hills close to Siena, where their family has been producing wine and olive oil since 1939. The property, which contains 19 hectares of vineyards and 12 hectares of olive groves, enjoys a breathtaking view of the Chianti hills and of the renowned medieval city only 5 km away.

They grow native local grape varieties as Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo, and have also introduced some international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to add another dimension to their production, benefiting from the properties of our extraordinarily rich soil.

The estate prides themselves in performing the most significant parts of the production process by hand, including pruning, tying-up, leaf-pulling and cluster-thin-fining. Harvesting too is done manually, carefully choosing the right time for picking in every single lot, to ensure the perfect ripeness of our grapes.

Tenuta Larnianone lies on a fertile land surrounded by woods and encompassed by two rivers, Bozzone and Arbia.

During the 1930’s the land was passed to the Masignani family, a well-known pasta producer from Siena, who decided to start a private production of wines.

Later, Maria Masignani married Ezio Morfini, a skillful and visionary engineer from Milan who, impressed by the beauty and the peace of the location, began the conservative restoration of the old farmhouses in the ‘60s. Following their great passion for wine, they decided to invest time and resources, using innovative techniques to create a wine with a superior quality that could celebrate the excellence of their land and could be handed down to their future generation.

Nowadays the property is still owned by the Morfini family: Tullio, Duccio, Anna that manage with their sons.
Chianti Santa Virginia is produced by the most suitable plots of the property with vines of 40 years old  composed only by native vines as Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo to keep the typical formula of the most famous Chianti.

Both in 2016 and 2017 the Chianti Santa Virginia resulted as the top wine in the “Chianti Docg” category. Bright deep ruby red color. Thanks to the harmony of the tannins, combined with the delicate complexity of smooth and fruity aromas, Santa Virginia is characterised by an excellent balance in the mouth and therefore it is versatile for meals from pasta to more complex meat main dishes or cheeses.

Bragia cru, composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese stretches for 3 hectares and the composition of the soil consists of loose clay and sand with many fossils of seashell which bless the wine with a marked elegance.

The vision behind Bragia wine is to challenge the terroir with international varieties, while maintaining Sangiovese grapes in order to keep to their Tuscan roots.

"Complex and herbal. Surprisingly supple without any obvious tannic Cabernet component while Merlot adds a little fruit sweetness. Long and with soft, drying, grainy tannins." - Jancis Robinson
