Liking pink wines is nothing to blush about! Raspberry, watermelon and cotton candy flavours mingle in the glass like Billy Crystal at the Oscars after-party. Modeled after White Zinfandel--can you taste the difference?

Aged 18 months in 80% new French oak. The 2010 Merlot is concentrated, yet subtly perfumed. Toasty oak and savory undertones pair with plummy fruit on the nose. The palate is dense and unctuous with silky tannin. Cocoa, stewed fruit and savory herbs dominate.

We know some people "only drink white wines," but this here should be an exception. The refreshing blend recalls juicy plums, ripe raspberries, cherries and candied apples. Terrific with pizza or made into Sangria. The Dolce converts many to red wine; enough for a cult following. Wanna join the cult?

The 2014 Nota Bene has proven to be yet another outstanding vintage. Its tantalizing signature of sweet, ripe cherry complimented by its dusty earth undertones is salivating. Rich, smooth tannins coat the palate, resulting in a juicy mouth feel with an alluring gilt of violets, and a lingering finish reminiscent of cigar box.

The 2014 Syrah fills the nose with aromas of dark fruit and black cherry with a smokey back drop. Carrying through on the palate are rich, dark fruit flavors of cherry, blackberry and blueberry with integrated notes of coffee, cocoa and cigar. It is full-bodied, velvety and smooth with a lengthy finish.

The 2015 Viognier on the nose hints displays hints of tree ripened peach, pear and pineapple along with the fragrance of white flowers, licorice and granny smith apple. When tasting the wine one picks up again on the ripe stone fruits of peach, apricot, and nectarine along with marked mineralogy, and a beautiful texture followed by a crisp finish

A ripe yet elegant nose showing a complex range of floral violet notes, five spice, sage, plum, black cherry and liquorice with a subtle hint of dark chocolate infused with orange zest. The palate is medium in body, elegant and refreshing with crisp acidity, soft round tannins and intense raspberry, plum, blackberry and spice on a long finish that shows some complex graphite minerality. Try with seared duck breast or chicken thighs grilled over charcoal.

The 2014 Chardonnay shows the ripe fruitiness of the 2014 vintage with winemaking restraint. It has ripe peach, nectarine and tropical pineapple and papaya notes on the nose with some well integrated subtle toasty oak and fresh mandarin and lemon citrus notes to add complexity. The palate is full-bodied and rich textured but with crisp balancing acidity. Lemon, lime, peach, toasted nut, pineapple, caramel, vanilla, mango and green melon make for a complex palate, heightened with well integrated oak. The finish is crisp and refreshing. Try pairing this with Dungeness crab or scallops sautéed in brown butter.

A complex, fresh red blend showing aromas ranging the broad spectrum from cassis, vanilla, blackberry and black plum through roasted nut, smoke, black olive, chocolate ice-cream, burlap, dried sage, cocoa and some sweet blue floral notes. The palate is youthful and structured with plenty of acidity and tannin for long ageing and lots of cassis, blueberry, plum, raspberry, cedar, cigar box, paprika and a subtle saffron note that should mature and evolve for at least 10 years.

Burrowing Owl’s Meritage blend is our flagship wine. Our Meritage is truly “our best of the best” - percentages of the components in the blend vary from vintage to vintage but are always selected from what are deemed to be the best combination for the vintage and the finest expression of our terroir. The 2012 Meritage features Cabernet Franc as the leading grape with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot providing mouth feel, extra length and complexity. The varieties were vinified and barrel aged separately for 18 months.
